About
Ty C. Akkoyun is a corporate partner in Broadfield’s New York office and serves as Chair of the Firm’s Innovation Committee. His practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions, joint ventures, restructurings, business combinations, corporate governance, and related strategic matters. He also has extensive experience overseeing general corporate matters for private equity portfolio companies.
Ty advises private equity sponsors, sovereign wealth funds, corporations, family offices, and other investors on complex domestic and cross-border transactions. He has worked across a broad range of industries, with a particular focus on energy, infrastructure, healthcare and life sciences, technology, and diversified industrials.
In addition to his transactional practice, Ty plays a leading role in Broadfield’s innovation strategy. He focuses on the practical integration of artificial intelligence, automation, and process design into legal workflows to improve quality, speed, consistency, and client value. Prior to joining Broadfield, Ty was a member of White & Case LLP’s Global Mergers & Acquisitions practice, where he served as an official innovation champion for AI and automation and was a key member of the team that won the Financial Times “Innovation in Generative AI Strategy” award at FT Innovative Lawyers North America 2024.
Ty brings an international perspective to his practice. He is admitted to the New York bar, holds law degrees from Northwestern Pritzker School of Law and Galatasaray University and regularly handles cross-border deals. Ty also speaks fluent English, French, and Turkish.
